If you’re a PC gamer, you know the importance of keeping your drivers up to date. Out-of-date drivers can lead to crashes, stuttering, and other nasty issues, and can also cause problems with your games. Here’s how to find out your graphics card driver version so you can make sure you’re always running the latest and greatest.

There are a few different ways to check your graphics card driver version. The first is to use your graphics card control panel. For NVIDIA users, this is the NVIDIA Control Panel, and for AMD users, this is the Catalyst Control Center.

To open your graphics control panel, right-click on your desktop and select the “NVIDIA Control Panel” or “AMD Catalyst Control Center” option, depending on which brand of card you have.

Once the control panel is open, look for a section called “Driver Version.” In the NVIDIA Control Panel, this is under the “Help” drop-down menu. In the AMD Catalyst Control Center, this is under the “Information Center” tab.

The driver version is listed here. Keep in mind that your graphics card manufacturer may release new drivers more often than your computer manufacturer, so you may see a different driver version number here than in your Device Manager.

If you don’t see a “Driver Version” section in your graphics control panel, or if you’re using integrated graphics, you can also check your driver version in the Windows Device Manager.

To open the Device Manager, right-click on the “Start” button and select “Device Manager” from the pop-up menu.

Scroll down to the “Display adapters” section and expand it. You should see your graphics card listed here. Double-click on it to open its properties window.

The driver version is listed under the “Driver” tab. You can also find other useful information about your graphics card here, including its name, manufacturer, and memory size.

That’s all there is to finding your graphics card driver version! Keeping your drivers up to date is important for stability and performance, so check back often and update them as soon as new versions are available.
